Background

The Boeing 747-400 Ed Force One served as a tour plane for heavy metal band Iron Maiden during their 2016 "The Book of Souls" World Tour, piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson, and took the band and their crew safely to over 35 countries. The Ed Force One is not just an airplane, but a symbol of the band's epic journeys and worldwide connection with their fans. This model celebrates the band's extraordinary history and unparalleled tour.

Το Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet είναι ένα τετρακινητήριο, ευρείας ατράκτου, μεγάλης εμβέλειας επιβατικό αεροσκάφος χαμηλών πτερύγων στην αμερικανική διαμόρφωση χαμηλών πτερύγων. Η κίνηση παρέχεται από τέσσερις κινητήρες Pratt and Whitney JT9D ή PW4000 ή Rolls-Royce RB211 ή General Electric CF6 ή GEnx. Η πτήση του πρωτότυπου έγινε το 1969 και η σειριακή παραγωγή ξεκίνησε το 1970 και συνεχίζεται ακόμα. Μέχρι τον Απρίλιο του 2017, είχαν παραχθεί 1.531 Boeing 747. Τα αεροπλάνα αυτού του τύπου χαρακτηρίζονται από δύο καταστρώματα επιβατών, που αύξησαν σημαντικά τον αριθμό των επιβατών -ανάλογα με την έκδοση- από 366 σε 568! Το πρώτο μαζικής παραγωγής ήταν το Boeing 747-100, αλλά το μοντέλο Boeing 747-200 τέθηκε γρήγορα σε λειτουργία, με βελτιωμένη απόδοση και βελτιωμένη εμβέλεια πτήσης. Αργότερα, προσφέρθηκε η έκδοση 747-400, η οποία αποδείχθηκε ότι ήταν η πιο δημοφιλής από όλες τις παραγόμενες.
