Fishing in the North Sea has been carried out since the Middle Ages, but it has clearly intensified after 1945, in parallel with the intensive development of fishing in Western and Northern Europe. Without a doubt, the countries that have participated and still participate in intensive fishing in this area are: Denmark, Norway and the United Kingdom. Most often, fishing trawlers fishing in the North Sea go to sea for three weeks, of which about 7-10 days are spent actually catching fish. Since the early 1960s and 1970s, these trawlers have been increasingly equipped with advanced navigation devices, but also sonar and devices that allow the size of the incoming fish stock to be determined and the depth at which it is located. Of course, for economic reasons, there is an attempt to reduce their crew, but most often they have from 12 to 20 members. As a curiosity, we can say that fishing in the North Sea reached its peak around 1980, when the annual catch in this reservoir exceeded 3.3 million tons. Over time, however, they began to decrease and in 2002 they were reduced to about 2.7 million tons.
