The Antonov An-225 Mrija (Russian: dream) is a modern, originally Soviet and now Ukrainian very heavy transport aircraft. The propulsion is provided by six Lotariev D-18T engines with a thrust of 229.5 kN each. The aircraft is 84 meters long with a wingspan of 88.4 meters! The aircraft's payload is about 400 tons. The maximum speed is 850 km/h and the maximum range is 15,400 km.
The Antonov An-225 Mrija is the largest transport aircraft currently in use in the world and the heaviest aircraft in the history of aviation! Only one example of this machine was built, and the production of the second one was stopped. This unusual aircraft was developed on the basis of the An-124 Ruslan. The main modification consisted of extending the fuselage by almost 15 meters, using a larger central wing and changing the arrangement of the rear wings. Ultimately, the An-225 Mrija was supposed to carry the Buran space shuttle on its back. However, due to the termination of this space program, the machine began to be used as a classic transport machine, albeit of gigantic dimensions. Since its flight in 1988, the machine has managed to set many world records in terms of flight time and payload weight to this day
