The Henschel Hs123 was a German single-engine biplane and dive bomber of the early years of World War II. The prototype first flew on 8 May 1935 and entered service in 1936. Despite construction being delayed by the outbreak of war, it was in service until 1944. The aircraft performed very well during the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939), where it served as a classic stormtrooper. However, development of the design was halted by the entry into mass production of the Ju-87 Stuka. The Hs123 also saw combat during the Polish Campaign and in the West in 1940. It was also used on a small scale on the Eastern Front, where the last serial copies, out of 255 produced, were destroyed. A 9-cylinder BMW 132 Dc star engine with 880HP was used as propulsion. Technical data: length: 8.33 m, wingspan: 10.5 m, height: 3.2 m, maximum speed: 341 km/h, maximum range: 860 km, maximum ceiling 9000 m, MG17 cal.7, 92 mm guns, suspended - bombs up to 450 kg. Capacity: 2
