The Ford Transit is a commercial vehicle that was first introduced to the public in 1965. Its serial production began in the same year and continues, so it is over 50 years old! During serial production, this type of car was manufactured in many cities around the world, such as Amsterdam, Genk in Belgium or Kocaeli in Turkey.
The Transit model was developed and put into production to replace the Thames and Taunus Transit models in the Ford Motor Company's offer. Compared to its predecessors, especially the Taunus Transit, the new model differed very clearly in body style, also offered a much wider range of engines and was more elaborate mechanically. The car was a huge success on the market due to its reliability, good traction properties and relatively low operating costs for this class of car. This determined the further production and development of the model. The latest generation was presented in 2013 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
