The Messerschmitt Me-108 Typhoon is a German four-seat single-engine sports and liaison aircraft designed by Willi Messerschmitt. The prototype flew in 1934 and entered service a year later. It was powered by a 239 hp Argus As 10C-3 engine. The Me-108 was used by the Luftwaffe as a transport aircraft for senior officers and as a liaison aircraft. One such aircraft crashed on 10 January 1940 near Mechelen, triggering the infamous "Mechelen Incident". The experience gained during the construction of this aircraft was used in the construction of the legendary Me-109. Technical data: length: 8.3 m, wingspan: 10.5 m, height: 2.3 m, maximum speed: 305 km/h, rate of climb: 5.2 m/s, maximum range: 1000 km, maximum ceiling 6200 m.
